Fireworks ! Should they be banned from our shops ?

Hi It's Me again having another moan,,  Why is it that when the celebration for Guy Fawkes comes around , It starts half way through October and halfway into November ? I mean there is only the 5th of November that is supposed to be celebrated as to mark the anniversary of the gunpowder plot , So why do we have to draw it out so long, And all the animals in my house are terrified of the noise and bangs that go with it, Perhaps they should ban fireworks and stop selling them to silly folk who insist on prolonging this annoying racket !

Don't get me wrong, I do like to see people enjoy themselves , But as long as it does not annoy others who may not enjoy what is going on !
Even as I write this , I can hear loud bangs and other fireworks that are making my dogs shake with fright, Surely this has to stop, It is cruelty to our animals !

Beware of false profiles on facebook

Here I am again, This time a WARNING to all who use facebook !   I received a friend request from a woman who insisted that she knew me from a pub in Abbey wood London SE2, I used to sing on a karaoke there and she reckoned that so did she, Well we started chatting as you do in an innocent fashion , The next thing I knew she messaged my wife and told her a pack of lies about the conversation that we had ! The things she told my wife nearly split us up ! The things she said was disgusting !  It turned out to be a false facebook account that a malicious person had set up to cause trouble, Fortunately for me they made a few mistakes that made us realise it was false, My wife and I are now ok once more ! So Please beware who you except as friends !

I would like to say a great big thank you to all musicians and the music industry also The Joe Meek Society for the historic music being kept alive by them , Also Radio Sutch & Denis H (presenter) of the Joe Meek Hour every Monday

Football ( why blame the manager ?)

Hi, Just a short one this time, Now I am not a great football fan, I do however support Arsenal as I was born up the road from their ground in Highbury and the Emirates stadium is even nearer to where I used to live, The thing that puzzles me is, Why do they always sack the manager when a team plays bad ?  After all, The manager is not the one who kicks the ball, Looks to me like they need a scapegoat for their bad football playing or am I missing the point ! I also think that women play a better game than men !

Decorating tip

Hi, I was doing some painting with Hammerite paint and after I was finished, I realized that the brush was going to be hard in half an hour if I did not clean it,  So I looked for something that would clean the brush, Lo and behold I did not have the right thinners to do the job, So what did I do ? 

  Well in the shed I had some terpentine substitute and in my Kitchen cupboard I had a tin of WD40 

 ,,  I first sprayed the brush bristles with the WD40 and left it to soak in for 30 seconds, I then washed the brush in the turps substitute and to my amazement all the paint was removed.

I saved myself a tidy sum on thinners as the one for Hammerite paint is rather expensive !

Orbit house is subsiding in Erith ?

Here I am having yet another moan !

This time it is about the house that my daughter lives in with her husband and  three children , The house is 34 Lincoln close , Erith, The Orbit housing association have let this house fall into such bad repair that it is subsiding ! Many complaints have been made about this house but the Orbit guys keep fobbing my Daughter and her husband off saying it is ok to live in ! Well ,
         
                   I DON'T THINK SO !

We took some pictures today of the bottom of the house from different angles, The pictures show that there is a lot of void space that seams to be under the house, There is only about 7 or so inches of concrete under the house and a big gap all along the front wall and also the side of the house, We were told that the house was condemned in 2004 but was underpinned to correct the problem, That was before my Daughter and her family moved in !  The thing is, If you underpin a house, Surly there must be more than about 7 inches of cement to correct it, I would have thought that 15 feet of concrete would be more like it!  No way was this house underpinned properly or there would not be gaps that you can put your hand in under the house ! This is bad, The house should be still condemned ,
Orbit did send some men out to do work on pointing and kitchen work tops and to fill in the gap at the back of the house, But the pointing is not good enough as it is shifting with the bricks as they move and the kitchen work tops are flapping up and down as the kitchen needs replacing but Orbit are to tight to supply a new one!  I am appalled at the state of this house and the privtely owned house next door which is also subsiding and the house next to that are all in disgusting condition and should be demolished as far as I am concerned, I am going to give Orbit one chance to move my daughter and her family to a decent property , If they Don't Then I will take it further mark my word !

                     AND I MEAN IT !
